![]() Nevertheless, this song is incredible, and I can't believe how it describes my situation so perfectly. The reason I felt the need to do this song, is because I am going through the same situation right now, and all these lyrics and "interpretations" were based off of my personal feelings, so they won't be necessarily correct, depending on the person reading. Tenderly, they turn to dust, all that I adore." - This could represent how the 'fire' has ruined everything in the relationship, and that's its essentially demolished everything this person adores in life. "Do you understand that we will never be the same again?" - This could represent how no matter what, nothing will ever be truly the same again, it's like that saying: 'Trust is like paper, once you crumble it, it will never be perfect again, no matter your attempts' (or something along those lines.)Īnd last but not least, my favourite line in the song: "We were born with nothing, and we sure as hell have nothing now." - This could represent how they weren't friends at the beginning, and now that the 'fire' has erupted, they have nothing, and their friendship is essentially meaningless. "I read them all one day, when loneliness came, and you were away." - This could represent how after the fight, that the friends are beginning to feel lonely not being with their other friend, and they had to think about their other friend in order to feel like they were not alone, when in reality, they were. "I was the match, and you were the rock maybe we started this fire." - This could represent how two friends who are fighting are both at fault, and this fire was started because of them, clearly. "All that we've amassed, sits before us, shattered into ash." - This could represent how, say friends, have made so many memories, and the "fire" or fight leads all those memories to be "shattered into ash" or essentially diminished, meaningless. My InterpretationPersonally, I feel this song is about a fight between either a couple, or simple friends, and the person singing this could be feeling incredibly lonely, singing how they feel about the fight, or "fire", according to the song. Tenderly they turned to dust all that I adore These are the things we lost in the fire fire fire The future's in our hands and we will never be the same again Ticket stubs and your diaries, I read them all one dayĭo you understand that we will never be the same again The things we lost in the fire, fire, fire ![]()
